For Furniture Manufacturing
For the visible surfaces of cabinets, wardrobes, fronts, carcass parts and other furniture elements, where the natural grain of the wood and a clean look across a production run both matter.

Sliced veneer is a natural surfacing material that reproduces the texture, color and natural grain of the wood as closely as possible. It is used for furniture, doors, wall panels and other products where the appearance of the surface is one of the key criteria.
Choosing sliced veneer is about more than technical specifications. It is chosen when the wood's texture, grain pattern, and color are part of the design.
Expressive natural texture — every sheet has a unique pattern.
Sheet matching within a batch — your products look uniform.
Suited for visible surfaces — facades, doors, premium furniture.
Every slicing method reveals the natural beauty of the wood differently. It is what determines the character of the figure, which in turn shapes how furniture, doors and other decorative surfaces are perceived.
Every wood species has its own shade, grain pattern and texture. Choose the veneer that matches the design of the furniture, doors, panels or decorative elements in your project.
Veneer grades define how the face side of the material looks: the evenness of the shade, the cleanness and clarity of the figure, and how much of the wood's natural character shows on the surface.
How to choose a grade for your project
For surfaces that are part of the design, choose grades A, B and their blends — they give a cleaner figure and carry fewer of the wood's natural features.
For the reverse side, and for surfaces that are not part of the design, choose grade C or Backing — a saving on cost with no loss of function.

The main difference between sliced and rotary-cut veneer lies in the production method, the appearance and the field of use. Sliced veneer is produced by slicing a squared log, so it conveys the natural figure, shade and grain direction of the wood far more faithfully. It is used for visible surfaces: furniture, doors, wall panels and interior elements. Rotary-cut veneer is made by peeling a log continuously, which yields large sheets and a uniform pattern. It is more often used as a technical material or as raw stock for plywood production.
The standard thickness of ALOM sliced veneer is 0.50 mm. If you need a bespoke thickness, get in touch and we will help.
These are two ways of slicing veneer, and they shape the appearance and texture of the wood. The tangential cut (Crown Cut) is made parallel to the growth rings, forming an arched figure that brings out the natural beauty of the wood. The radial cut (Quarter Cut) runs perpendicular to the growth rings, creating a pattern of clear, parallel grain lines.
The choice of veneer length depends on the dimensions of the finished product, the production technology and the way the sheets are joined. For large furniture fronts, doors, wall panels and architectural elements, longer veneer is usually chosen to minimize the number of joints and achieve a continuous natural figure of the wood. For smaller parts or series production, shorter sheets can be used, which helps optimize material consumption. It is also worth considering the wood species, the cut and the technical requirements of the specific project, so as to strike the best balance of appearance, production efficiency and cost.
Yes. The grade, cut, length and shade of the veneer can all be selected so that the sheets work well together within a single order. If you have your own timber, we can slice it to the parameters you supply.
ALOM combines its own production, quality control and a flexible approach to the needs of B2B clients. We ensure stable supply and offer a wide choice of grades, formats and cuts, as well as the option to produce veneer to individual specifications. Our priorities are modern production, responsible use of timber and support for clients at every stage of the partnership.
