Which Cutting Type to Choose
The cutting method defines how the finished product will look. Decorative furniture and doors usually call for sliced veneer with its different cut types, while rotary-cut veneer is the optimal solution for plywood and technical products.
Rotary-cut veneer
Produced by continuously peeling the log. It yields large sheet formats and makes the most efficient use of the wood.
Crown cut (tangential)
Slicing along the growth rings creates a pronounced wavy figure that brings out the natural texture of the wood.
Quarter cut (radial)
Slicing perpendicular to the growth rings forms an even, straight-line pattern with a more restrained aesthetic.
